I figured out why some Chinese comics lose me when it comes to executing the plot. I found that there’s no build up at all. There’s no tension at all. At most a character will get a “sudden” feeling and then on the next panel things so down. There’s no time to interpret certain scenes or any element of wonder. I feel like I’m generalizing it a lot, but has anyone else felt that way when it comes to certain series? Like they have all the potential, but it just disappoints.

Many of them are basically like written opera shows ie: Bold and Beautiful. Full of of angst, lies and deceit, terrible families with trust issues etc.,. They make more money dragging out something slightly more interesting than regular life itself lol. I’ve stalled on reading pretty much every single Manhua as the plot goes nowhere and the cliffhangers turn into overkill slow burns with major anticlimax. But, hey at least they’re never ending unlike a whole bunch of my fav manhwas that are wrapping it up this month ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ
