The fact he said he wants to do everything even if it harms her goes to show that even if it is for her, he doesn’t mind hurting or damaging her in anyway. In the end, he shouldn’t have done it, and tried to find a way to consult with it. If he was any smarter, he wouldn’t have trusted anything that came out of that sister’s mouth

I somewhat agree with you, but in this case, both Wendy and him know that the bitch of a sister and mother were always holding things against them. It may seem just a kiss, but the feeling of betrayal is real because he did kiss her and Wendy didn’t understand his intentions. That is clear. (I don’t remember much since it’s been a long time I have read it). I think his actions are great because at least Wendy won’t be willing to stay in that hell of a place. He did good in that category. However, I find it stupid that he chose to believe the words coming out of the stupid sister’s mouth and not yet hear it from Wendy. Okay maybe he doesn’t have enough power to stop the forced marriage, so I agree with you. However, the forced marriage won’t happen until awhile later, and there should still be ways to break the marriage.
