Not to be that kind of person but I've been seeing a lot of people using seme and uke and I hope that I can educate you (it is not my intention to offend you). "All yaoi is BL but not all BL is yaoi" by what I mean by this. Yaoi is a very, very, very generalized term westerns translated when they found out about BL manga. People think Yaoi=BL when its not. Yaoi is a genre that's heavily rooted on rape scenarios where the whole point of the manga is smut. That's why it's very upsetting to see when the person that's been rape ends up developing romantic person to the rapist.
Now for the term uke and seme. Uke does not mean a bottom, and Seme does not mean a Top. Uke a is a term used to describe the "female" in the story. That's because yaoi is targeted for female audiences and an uke is more like a female self insert where that female audience can fantasize that they are the main character. With Seme it is associated with the character that is oozing with cold masculinity. Therefore, please do not call yourselves a proud fundashi or a proud fujoshi because it does not mean you enjoy reading the love between men. It literally means you a dirty person for fetishizing an unhealthy toxic relationship between men (Edit: I research the term fundashi and fujoshi again and I'm sorry for giving misinformatio, those terms were used to insult against people who just likes BL content. I still stand by that Yaoi is not a good genre to use to categorize BL content.)
Since Yaoi is a term that very generalize it doesn't mean all manga that has been tagged as yaoi is bad. It's better to read them and think for yourself.
(Thanks for reading and I hope you would educate any other mutuals of yours around you.)
PS: Please read Plain Boy and Prince in Webtoon. I knew about this because of that webtoon and I couldn't be more happier. Also it's a very sweet and funny story.
