What boggles my mind is he’s aristocracy he would have had to get married and provided an heir with whoever his parents decided no matter who it was that’s expected of him indefinitely.
The fact that this girl is even realistic enough to know that her husband may have not loved her and could be bedding another without so much as jealousy is how mature and realistic she is. She at least respects him and likes him to wish him well. Her love was selfish but it was also self less. She knew he might even have others he might bed, that’s how it was back then, but have we seen her complain. So for her to even be “nice” and tolerate Hosik when she could have easily have been far worse is ridiculous for people to hate her.
She’s just doing her duty as wife and as a woman of her station in life. Sungyeon is the one who should have known better putting than to put Hosik in such an awkward position and acting lso immature about the situation. Of course it’s unfortunately sad, but Sungyeon stubbornly holding onto Hosik when Hosik has no say as a servant and thus puts Hosik in a very uncomfortable position should he anger the young mistress and more importantly Sungyeon’s parents.
Sometimes I wonder if people just hate women in BL because they hate themselves because how one could not understand or sympathize how a young girl who’s never had freewill is able to pick for herself her husband, an opportunity that is such a rarity for that time, but ends up now stuck in a unrequited marriage that leaves her trapped in different kind of way isn’t sad then I don’t know what to tell people.
you guys blaming the girl BRUH he agreed to do it with her lmao smh hosik deserves better
