I would recommend searching for easy novels with furigana instead. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
I agree, novels are way more easier than manga for a starter. Mangas have a lot of slang you may not understand, moreover if you read seinen they will have no furigana and it will be more difficult for reading kanji.
