chapter 57 was hard to understand let alone the translation everywhere isn't 100% accurate and here there is only half of the chapter and the translation isn't accurate either, but in my language they did a good translation, the king was the one who made the twins eat the roots bcz he wanted to kill them bcz he was angry at their father, he took the twins bz their father didn't kill the lil aseph , the father told aseph that if Zay diead he will be angry at the boy bcz everything happened to his kids was for the boy, but he would do the same thing if he goes back in time bcz Zay asked him too and he can't decline his daught's first request, oh and laudwig the read head prince want's to marry Zay not bcz he loves her but to keep her father near him he is insane he is using the twins just to control the father bcz he needs him he want to tie this family to him ( maybe he know that Zay have strong powers given to her by goddess too whi knows )

Maybe I'm an idiot but I didn't understand why he fed the roots to his daughters?? I thought it was poisonous and kinda deadly? Why would he need to do that until they got addicted?(￣∇￣")
