this manga started off very serious and now it's kinda turning into "owo yaoi boys my favourite fetish"..... it would be nice to see their relationship as an aspect of the story instead of just fanservice

I guess she really didn’t like the heartlessness from the writing of both of them. It’s understandable why she numbed down the intensity. When she first started publishing this series, yaoi was still pretty frowned upon (not that it isn’t now either) so I’m sure rather than writing healthy and realistic or even cute stories, the only thing that sold were the stories that catered to the ‘extreme taboo’ of yaoi like twin/brother incest n’ stuff. With the changing of times and push of social acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m sure it helped lead the genre in a better direction than it was in originally. Meaning, authors realized they could actually depict functional and healthy gay relationships instead of fully fetishizing them like they used to. I don’t personally think it’s fanservice but more the narrative the author-san wanted to create from the start?
