The sexism persists even in this day and age

I really hate how this manga makes me think about how sexism exists even now. Pauliana is having it so hard for her even though she’s got a stack of achievements compared to those noble fkwits. Ughhhh and Donau jesus boi, why are were you so slow I rooted for you since the beginning when you were just a short brat. Lucy my boi, you should just fess up and take Paul into your harem... sigh at least then Paul will have status and she can still run around being badass instead of having been discharged that way.

Right, the whole point is that she wants to be independent without needing to be married

It’s impossible because of the laws so the next best thing she can do is gain power through marriage and in turn gain freedom through her husband which is what he can grant. Her dream is to serve under him as a knight and be by his side. So tell me how else can she achieve this feat?

Why don't you also tell me how can she marry someone who is in power? Isn't she already a knight and a commander to boot? And she pretty much independent already. I think you're talking about a noble lady that is shackled by her family coz Paul right now has a lot of freedom any women can get in that era.

Who else can she marry with power to give her freedom other than Lucy? Paul herself only wants to serve him as a knight and that is impossible without political standing. Sure she can run around now but that’s not what she wants. She can’t even say shit to those who have political power, money and status talks back in that era. Women like her end up dying all the time because they have no backing.

Also if Lucy proposes to her, it doesn’t mean she cannot reject his offer. We know he will never force her to do anything she doesn’t want to. She can she say no and travel around the empire and do whatever the fuck she likes but as you can see even with that freedom she has now she only wishes to serve him as a knight. Sexist as it is, she needs a man beside her because that’s the only way she’ll ever be able to have a social standing against nobility and men at the time. Title and land is needed but she has no opportunity for that now because war is over and noble assholes are out playing politics and that’s a new kind of war.

Oh dear since you're talking about law, political and power. You're saying that she can't serve him as a knight without political standing but she can marry him without a political background? Although we know they will end up together. Don't you think it's too good to be true? At most she can only become his low rank concubine since you're talking about law we know as per law becoming an empress would really be impossible without a freaking good family. If she marries the emperor she would be locked up in the harem she wouldn't still be able to say shit about people since she needs now to mind her manners.

She is technically a noble albeit not from the “Empire”. As I recall an Emperor can take anyone he likes into his harem, be it a slave or a beggar. They just won’t be able to have political power like an empress and it’s not like Paul wants it anyway. Idk why the hell we are debating so hard over a manhwa but I’m just stating that if the Emperor proposes that Paul will have an option to have power and run about as a knight because of his backing. Wtf can ministers do if his wife/concubine runs free and he gives her permission to do so? At most he can change the laws but law making/changes takes YEARS. Paul might be long gone by then. I’m not against being a feminist but I also think you have to think about the era. Women rarely had power back then and if they did it was through their husbands (and those husbands aren’t necessarily alive).

It really is funny when you are ranting that it is impossible to be his knight without political background and shit when in totally fact she is already his knight, if not. Then who the fck is she serving and taking command? But its more funny that you make it sound like it is easy as eating a pie to marry an emperor and rise in power even without political background.

I’m not sure what ruffled your feathers but everyone is entitled to an opinion and this is mine. Am I forcing my view upon you? No, I’m not. Yes, I made a sexist remark but I also made a realistic remark based on how many manhwas/webtoons turn out
