I think they love each other in high school. and I don't think it Stockholm syndrome since the MC never stop of fighting him. he never stops seeing the action has bad or felt sympathy with him. many get confused on what really Stockholm syndrome is, but if you read what it is then you know it is not Stockholm syndrome.

I ain’t gonna lie, this is actually really good, like seriously great and well thought out. Anyways, a lil confused tho. Is this Stockholm syndrome or conflict from before now being solved and they found out they love eachother. Bc I can’t pick one to go with.
