I also like this focus into his reality and stages of life, how it demonstrates sex work is like any service work. he seems so earnest and I love how he put things together in terms of the style of writing to relieve the seriousness for audiences
I have other underrated biography mangas listed if you want more
"Thus, I slowly but surely began peering into a world straddling the depth and awfulness of human desire and sin-- through a special industry, gay prostitution."
"We are selling our services, we are not selling our actual selves."
"People who know how to sell themselves will succeed in every field."
Firstly, this manga and mochigi himself is making me speechless. Speechless in a way that for an age of 19, he is a man of wisdom. There is too much tobe said in here but I cant seem to note them all because overall, this is such an eye opener, a refeshing yet deep biography of a gay man. The comedy in here that makes things lighter still hits through the core. He is a sensible person indeed.
Secondly, this shows the reality behind the stigma of the sex industry. Especially in japan, since Japanese people are very professional when it comes to work. They do not sell themselves but the service they offer. There's huge difference between those two.
And lastly, people who really knows how to sell themselves will succeed in every field thats a fact. From the moment you hand on that resume and answer the interviewee's questions, it is you selling yourself, no matter what field you are into.
I love this manga. It just hits different when you are reading a biography rather than a work of fiction, especially when its about a societal stigma. I'll definitely get my hands on those harcopies.
