Please stop fetishizing gay relationships and normalizing the. victim falling in love with their rapist.

So I’m still seeing people talk about how they enjoyed this and I just want you to know if you enjoyed this then you are fetishizing gay relationships, so please stop. I don’t care if this is fiction or not. Don’t forget that fiction stories do have an impact on how people view certain communities. This is just a projection of you and the author’s fantasies. Fetishizing gay relationships is a common thing in the BL community and it’s not cute/shouldn’t be normalized. We should not be okay with the author writing about LGBT+ individuals like this. Writing rape into a story is okay but using it so the rapist and victim can fall in love??? That’s disgusting and belittles rape victims. Please don’t fetishize this and don’t normalize BL stories like this. Thank you.

I agree but imma have to disagree with everything you are saying. If it was that big of a problem then ignore the chapters and move on but I’m guessing you actually sat here and read through the whole thing knowing that you didn’t like this sort of stuff. Just move on the others like it, it’s just a plot. I agree this isn’t normal but who cares? Just ignore stuff like this. It’s entertainment.

But it’s not just entertainment?? It’s a story that is representation of an LGBTQ+ relationships whether the author wanted it to be or not. If you read rape victims falling in love with their rapists for ENTERTAINMENT, then that’s a serious issue you should get checked out. Gay people don’t exist so they can be written into shitty stories like this and then fetishized by non gay people in the BL community. I’m not ignoring this because it’s starting to become normalized and it’s not okay to write stories like this then fetishize gay people. I didn’t even read the story I just skimmed through it and went to the comments to see if we finally got our shit together and started to criticize stories like this.

I would like to agree on the fetishizing lgbtq and the way it can be viewed as. But I would also like to say as a fiction the people reading this woul realize it’s not true. Unless they say “this is based on a true story” we can get disgusted but they were warn. The people to read this aren’t as stupid. They realize it’s a manga and there are other mangas that actually represent lgbtq community. Yes u can criticize but to put down the authors and others that’s just wrong. If u felt u didn’t like it, say u didn’t like it because it had rape even though u knew what u were getting into and move on. [but like u I hate rape.]

And also even if we “likel these stories doesnt mena we actually want it to come true. Some of us know the difference between reality and [2D] fake. We don’t want ANYONE to get rape or fall in the love with their rapist/kidnappers but the fiction world is a world where we can CREATE but we know, even the author knows, it’s wrong in reality. We aren’t as disgusting as u think.

But fiction is based on people’s fantasies and is just a projection. If you don’t like seeing people being abused and raped in the real world then why do people read about it in fiction? And to be clear, I’m not talking about rape stories where the victim overcomes their trauma/the rapist gets punished. I’m talking about stories that make the victim fall in love with the rapist. If we don’t like seeing that irl then why do we like seeing that in fiction? Just because they are not real characters and the story isn’t real doesn’t make what happened any less gross or any less inappropriate. For ex: if an author makes a child fall in love with a pedophile and there’s a warning then is it suddenly okay because it's just a fictional story? Does that suddenly make the story/the ppl who read it and enjoyed it immune to criticism? No. That story is still fucking weird and we shouldn’t normalize it and we should continue to criticize stories like that. It’s because of stories like this that the BL community has a bad reputation and is seen as a community that fetishizes gay relationships.

You do you bro but I find it weird how you can enjoy a story where a character falls in love with their rapist. Especially since you don’t agree with it irl. It doesn’t really make sense to me. I don’t see how your values can change just because it’s not a real story and it’s not happening to real people. It’s still a storyline that a real person thought of and wanted to turn into a story. Kind of gross, but aight.

Bro dead ass it’s literally like a coping skill. Like how if someone is feeling heavy emotion they draw, write, sing, or dance. It’s just like that. Yes we’re “projecting” our “fetishes” into 2D and making it into a manga but if we were to not be able to have a “coping skill” or to have a guilt be taken away in some type of form, then in reality people who can’t contain there “fetishes” would put it on ACTUAL REAL LIFE PEOPLE. It’s an imagination but it’s not like we actually enjoy watching someone get raped. We just like seeing different scenarios and cases but it’s not like in REALITY we’re that fucked up to not help a rape victim. It’s a way to get the “guilt” off our chest because we don’t want to project on reality and the author might have wanted to show different scenarios.

And no we don’t like that we have a bad reputation. And no NOT ALL of us fetishes gay sex. And yes when I come across rape I leave. I say, “bye.” But there are also straight mangas that talk about rape and same “ideas” as Yaoi mangas but no ones complaining. They don’t say, “hey don’t the straight manga have a lot of rape and all that stuff?” It’s complicated just like how u can like oranges one day and favor apples another day. Our mind works differently but if we do come across a bad tragedy going on we will call the police or get sum help. It’s common sense. No we don’t like the fact that they get rape but most bl mangas are just strange.

    weeaboobrando August 21, 2020 10:25 pm

no, I'm not fetishizing gay people literally I read all types of manhua, manhwa, and manga, I literally don't care that they're gay, I'm not reading it because their gay, I'm just into all types of manga, not all yaois are made making rape seem romantic

Nobody said they existed for that, this literally happens to all types of people, and yeah I agree on the rape thing being fetishized

It’s not that big of a deal. Let’s just move on, some of these comments are ruining on what people like to read. No one actually says they want rape to happen irl so don’t make it seem like that is what this whole thing is about.
