Apparently yes, and it's not weird at all. In several Asian countries ( I think), including mine's being called oppa or hyung or equivalent names indicates that you're close with that certain person. So, if someone who is a lover calls you with those names it pretty much means that they're calling them pet names like honey, baby, darling and so on. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
