Thanks for explaining. My plebeian mind honestly couldn’t figure out why the empress was pissed off about receiving the jewel in the beginning.

The impress losed her children and her friend commited suicide, because she wasnt able to protect them. But her treasury belonging passed from one person to another until it returned to her majesty. However, her majesty suspected the FL, that she by giving a gift she tells her she is the one to took the life of her friend, but female lead solve the misunderstanding by saying that the true history of the onject do not fade and so her majesty is not the one in fault of the death, and it is just right to return to the dear friend of the died one(. Like, she was loyal and she would have wished trully to give the jewel to her majesty as an apology and memory, but also she could not, as she was also at fault in the death of friends children. However, majesty did understand the actions and really wanted smth from her friend) then her majesty said that im grateful for the jewel, but for smth like this meaningful you might be requesting in the equal standing? And then FL wants to be her lady-in-waiting. Her majesty but thinks that the reason lies in the bringing shame on the mother of FL and so to the estate of her family as the mother was the one that was on charge for a long time. But FL says otherwise, she did not want to bring a shame on the estate, but specifically wants to get rid of the name Mirayla's daughter and so make the people who once mistreated her to be in a dispair. In addition she says, that her majesty would accept her request as she also wants to bring down those mother and boy kid. Empress says that smth like- Ha, you think that the only reason emperor do help mistress and the son, because of the favour to her? No, that way he could control the power of his vassals and nobles by halving it. In addition, i want revenge him too as he did not only killed my sons, also giving the things belonged to my children to this b*tches son, but took all possessions of my relatives and my family, distributing it among those who flattered his mistress(again so nobles whould assume that if they offend mistress they will be punished as emperor did not even spare the empress and etc). And then empress says, so what else can u suggest to me? And FL is like - he will die as a little sh*tty dog, without anyone beside. He will experience the same loneliness as your majesty when u left alone but harsher punishment will befall on him... FL will make so.ヾ(☆▽☆)
