Lol I understand your frustration but at this point in time Claude is still only the third son of a baron that doesn't have any title or property. It's not like he can kidnap her or scold the duke because most likely he'll be ignored or it might even exacerbate the poor treatment Opal is getting. So the only thing he can do now is work hard on his studies so that he'll have a good enough title or rich enough to marry Opal
