I accidentally answered this to another question, but I meant it for you, so I'll just copy/paste my answer from below:

You can either copy/paste it or, if you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards (in parentheses will be a number indicating the amount of keyboards you have) > Add Keyboard. You will see a bunch of different language options, but scroll down and look for "Emoji."

Add it to your keyboards. Now, the next time you try to type something and your keyboard pops up, there will be a little globe/Earth/sphere-looking symbol on the bottom left of the iPod, between the space bar and the "change from ABC to 123" option. When you click that symbol, it'll give you a bunch of emoji options (those faces and hearts and cats and stuff). Hope this helps; let me know if I said anything confusing.
