How you can tell people are for your money or your real friend

You know someone is fake and just using you when they tell YOU to pay for things on YOUR birthday.

I- bruh you clearly havent met a Filipino then. The celebrant has to cover all the expenses and do all the planning. The guests just come to party and leave when the party is over. ofc there are some special cases BUT yea thats actually normal here in ph lol.

No. I do think know much about the Philippines.

But maybe that's how it's dont there and people are okay with it lol. But what I mean is, it's his birthday. Now I understand if it was him throwing the party, like finding a location and setting it up and stuff. Than of course he should spend his money. But his "friends" said we should go drink and his other friend was like, yeah that sounds fun you should treat us. They suggested to go there so he shouldn't have to pay for their drinks on his special occasion it should be the other way around.

I'm from the United states so if your friend decide to take you out for your birthday, most likely they'd treat you to dinner or drinks lol so that's where my logic comes from with his friends just using his money and always wanting him to treat them to something.
