This comment actually saddens me, and not because I ship BakuDeku. I have reasons for liking that ship (chara development, history etc.), but my liking for the ship is just that-- my liking for the ship. It's like a side hobby. Couldn't really care if any of my ships ever become canon-- I'm more into the development between the characters and character development. More into friendship etc. etc. as far as canon is concerned. I'd honestly be happier if there wasn't any romance at all, and even if there ends up being romance I don't really care because I'm here for the PLOT, not to see characters fuckin'.
But please don't dislike an entire story because some of the fans are such shit. ;-; The story is great, and the characters are wonderful too. And the art is just. So beautiful. Personally, I have no idea what actually happens in fandoms and have never been interested either. I'm not even 100% in with the details of what people heckled Hirokishi with, either; all I know that they demanded him to make certain ships canon (i have no idea what those certain ships are, that being said). What I have gathered, though, is that most fandoms just end up getting super toxic (if not 100% of any fandom, then 20%, maybe). So, as a rule, I avoid it.
Anyway, do stick with BNHA, it is always sad to watch a fan of a show leave. Of course, it's up to you, but I'm sure Hirokishi would be saddened, too, to know that his work is not being appreciated just because a few fans demand thing from him they have no right to demand from him.
I do hope you change your mind! :)
Oh! I just came across the Endeavor thing and that just makes me so... stumped. Like, wtf. I'm happy about the turn Horikoshi gave Enji, personally. It shows character growth, and that people are dynamic beings. They CAN change. Enji's actions aren't being condoned, the mangaka just showed character development. I have no idea why people are reacting so much against his development. If Enji's character took a 180 degree change out of nowhere, I'd be super disappointed. But that's not what happened-- there was a lot of reflection going on in his head, questions he had to ask himself, wondering if everything he's done so far is worth it. Turmoils, conflicts etc. etc. Idk, man. What's wrong with some fans.
And people reacted because Bakugou's birthday is (was? Dunno, did Horikoshi have to change it?) on 20th April? Like, WTF. Ugh, the fandom is evidently shit. I hope Horikoshi doesn't end up quitting on the series, really.
Anyway, sorry for the long rant lol. Your comment made me want to google search a bit and what I saw made me facepalm super hard.
I understand you and don't ship Bakugou and Midoriya not because of their twisted relationship though (I even ship Shizaya so). but idfc if Bakugou never apologizes to Deku,
he's sorry already anyway.
the bnha gay ship fandom didn't ruin the show,
you're just being affected.
don't let fandom's bullshit get to you (same goes for me lmao)
I agree. ESPECIALLY with reason number 3.
It’s fucking annoying that the shippers are trying to coerce Horikoshi into making their ships canon. Like come on bro, this ain’t it.
I’m heavily into shipping but here it’s just not suitable. I don’t feel like shipping anyone here because they are KIDS damnit. their priorities should be school, training and going to bed on time. Don’t do this to me.
If you look hard enough, you can probably find a controversial birthday for most of the characters.
It honestly pisses me off. When haters do shit like that it just shows how pathetically far they’re willing to reach to find some dirt.
Honestly, just take this straw and suck my ass. I don’t care that bakugou shares a bday with that scum. So does that mean that everyone that has the same bday as Hitler is automatically shit? Oh!
that's it. i'm out. i can't stand this fucking fandom anymore. this was the first anime i've ever watched and boy was ignorant. it's a good show, really. but the fandom has completely ruined it for me. i'm gonna state my semi-unpopular opinions to get the fucking bakudeku shippers a n g r y.
1. endeavor's character development is amazing. i think everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves worthy of being given a second chance, and i believe that endeavor definitely deserves one. he's making an effort to change, and recognizes his past mistakes. yes, he can't change what's already been done, but he can at least try to change his ways to avoid ever making mistakes like that again, which is exactly what he's doing.
2. if you ship bakudeku, i mean...what? bakugo literally told deku to jump of a building and kill himself, and y'all are seriously shipping them?? yeah sure i get your "agressive seme" kink, but encouraging self harm and unhealthy relationships is just fucked up. i for one, actually do think that bakugo's character development was pretty nice, but he still never apologized for what he said, and has done.
3. MY HERO ACADEMIA IS NOT ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS. THAT ISN'T THE MAIN PLOT. IT'S THE STORY OF A KID WHO BECOMES A HERO. GET. THAT. INTO. YOUR. HEAD. you're telling horikoshi to make gay relationships canon, but that's not what the show is about. don't use the excuse, "oh but its for lgbtq representation" fuck your representation. go push for lgbtq representation where it fits, not a shounen ACTION manga. romantic relationships isn't what mha is about. also, lgbtq+ representation isn't just gay ships. that includes lesbian ships too. get your toxic ass out and into the streets. makes me wanna drop it cause the fandom is so shit.
but to you people who know how to keep their ships to themselves, and understand that this is an action comedy, not a yaoi fantasy, thank you :)
