I honestly think that would be really snotty to write him in as not only the “hero” but also neglecting his dying wife who he has cheated on for a kid he helped once. Even if you think he was visiting aroma instead of another woman that would still be so so weird and wrong. It wouldn’t negate the fact he stopped going to see his wife despite knowing she was dying and how cold we saw him act towards his own kid. Like his kid was watching his mom die and he wasn’t there for him. I think it’s reaching to assume Taigas dad was the one who intervened but even if he did I think the take away is anyone can be a hero “in the moment” and that it doesn’t make you a good person to do one right thing, especially if you’re doing wrong by the people you’re supposed to love and protect. If it was taigas dad that would be a very depressing message.

That ofc is not making taiga's father the hero especially bcz that made both his wife and own son suffer bcz of that. Taiga's father might have saved arima but taiga is the one who helped him come in term with his trauma so...but I do think that arima was saved by his father and the father couldn't care more about his wife.

And looking closely in chapter 3 his father looked at something distant and then went that way... maybe it is only me but I think he saw something and at that moment deemed it important enough and the flowers were probably for his wife only. He indeed went to visit his wife but due to deviating like that by the time he came she was already gone.

If it’s his dad that would ruin it a bit for me...just really too much of an unrealistic cliche that the one person in that whole city that happened to catch him at the right place and time happened to be taigas dad...just seems very contrived and overly melodramatic to me. Like adding in too many unnecessary details. I know these kind of cliches of “right place and time” happen a lot in fiction and especially fiction catering to ladies but when everything else in the manga feels more fresh adding in something so old school seems strange to me. Personally I was thinking that there will never be a “reveal” of who it was, it was just an everyday hero whose identity doesn’t matter only the change they effected. I think that would be more realistic and a bit more poignant but that’s just my opinion.

Yeah true it would be too unrealistic but not something impossible in a manga so that's why the proposition, it would be better not to end up like that though but still I have a feeling that it might. Just that...it is not something admirable if it goes that route at this point
