It can be that he really doesn't care at all whatever happens to Lee, or that he doesn't care just because he knows that he'll be ok, since is really similar to him. I hope it is the second option, they are a good family and until that moment I seemed that both of them trully loved his son. Plus, it would be so sad for Lee to have a parent that was just pretending to love him
