Yea the whole part at the end about the chancellor crying tears of blood after they left wearing the same smile he gave his son made me think that he was fortelling the future he would ensure would come true...I mean his family is well loved by the people...but since the emperor is so loving and supportive of his son I think he might have been like him when he was younger at least in respects to war like you said but he can be quite clever! One piece that's missing is whose the crown prince's mom? A concubine? Legal wife? No mention of her so far in any respects...and I don't remember them mentioning the Chancelor's past love either...but one things for sure that's some serious dedication/love to his daughter who was in a coma for 12 years I mean like wow! It contrasts her past life well since she was mostly alone until she met her husband and they had a child. I want the Chancellor's oldest son to come back in the drama too... (〜￣△￣)〜
BL moment! Is what I'd like to say but, the emperor is hinting that he likes the chancellor and his family to be in-laws. Judging from their long history, he trusts the Chancellor alot and his an upright official with strong family background. His cabinet is divided into two factions as you can see the way the arrangement of their setting positions is arranged. The emperor is preparing for someone he can trust to aide the crown prince (since hes all about wars and such and probably not good with politics).
