But we know the manga name and the artist so we can see their other works. Plus if I love a manga so much I go and personally buy it. I have a physical copy of Jackass! myself. I would like the artist to get recognition instead of just not even a mention.

That’s not what I was getting with this. We all have our own lives and struggles and there’s no way I’m discrediting you for not buying. I was trying to use that as an example of mentioning and what it can do. A deeper example would be if you saw a manga page but you dont have a title or an artist, it’s a lot harder to find the source. Especially if the person who posted the page doesn’t say anything about it other than “it’s in this large group”. Now replace the manga page with fanart, and I hope you see what I mean. I brought up the point that I personally try and support the artist because you brought up the point that we are technically reading unpaid for manga; then proceeded to acknowledge that you didn’t understand the point of giving credit where credit was due.
