It really depends on who is translating it. But if it seems to be on a schedule as in you get weekly or monthly updates but you've no Idea when to expect it I click a manga scroll under the 'photos' and 'other works by author' sections and look at the chapters section. They have the dates of when ever those chapter got uploading. I compare it to a calendar and figure it out from there. Like oh, it updates every friday or every three weeks or yearly （/TДT)/ But that's personally how I do it.
Yiu get notifications. at the top right corner of the screen, you should see three symbols, a letter, a bell, and a clock. The bell is the notifications
If you put your manga in a reading section you will get notifications when it's updated
