I think Ray did that to try Soohyun’s loyalty out... Because Ray still thinks that at some point everyone changes. He thinks that if Soohyun gets problems he’ll turn up to be abusive like their Father. So if he changes Sooha will get really hurt to the point Ray will take control over body!!
I just hope Ray didn’t gave the Jewel to his grandfather yet, so he’ll still have something to threaten his grandfather when he realizes that Soohyun isn’t that bad after all...
