Nah. Grooming is like an isolation technique where the culprit makes the victim think they are the only person on their side. usually the victim is extremely dependent on the culprit. Rather disgusting. This is criminal but simply an age gap romance. Though I think the age of consent in Japan is 16

Actually the official age of consent in Japan is 13. But each district has their own age of consent, so the 13 years of age thing isn't enforceable. Girls in Japan can get married at 16 with parental consent, I think.

okay, makes sense. i know that the age of consent in japan is really young but it still really bothers me, i honestly dont mind the age gap if the girl was like 18/19 at least

age gaps and legal age is really just a cultural matter because in some corners of the world 18-21 is seen as legal while in other places it could be 13-16 so it’s fine to feel uncomfortable when there’s such a dramatic difference in acceptable legal age,, just don’t try to equate how it’s okay in one country to how it isn’t in another,, because then you’re changing the context,,,, but yeah it’s normal to be kinda put off by such a dramatic difference in legal age

yeah i know but in my mind, i honestly cant see 13-16 yr olds as adults (legal age), cause you cant deny that they're only still kids. im not trying to compare anything. big age gaps when one is under 18 is just a no no to me, i cant see them as anything other than kids even though the legal age might technically be 13-16
