It's like Wanwan was like a mafia queen in their... secret society like cultivation world or smth and she was the one who made all the moves on Si Yehan and they fell in love but some shit happened where he had to wipe her memory and hypnotize her to believe she was ye wanwan (the original is dead) to keep her safe. So much happened in this story there's gonna be an arc about being a top artist manager as ye bai... and I haven't even finished the story yet. Maybe I mixed it up with a different story cuz it's been a while since I last read this but I think she also had a kid back in the secret society that yehan doesn't know of... yet.
Yes, I've read the whole novel and he's actually not as bad as he seems.

She's part of a secret nation for fighting (Independent Nation) and the president of one of the top companies/organizations called the Fearless organization. They fall in love with each other in the Independent Nation, but they don't know each others identities as the head of the their own organizations. After she has the child, something bad happens with her grandpa, and she thinks she killed him, but she didn't. Because she think she killed him, she wants Si Yehan to mask her memories and now she thinks that she's been kidnapped or forcefully taken, even those they were a couple. Eventually she find out want happens and fixes all of it. Si ye Han just doesn't want to lose her so he's not letting her go, but he doesn't explain anything either.
I don’t believe the FL fully likes him or likes him at all yet. From what i read it’s just an act so that way she doesn’t get locked up in Ji garden. But if she did like him then it’s would be natural since he has shown her slight kindness whenever she was affectionate towards him or she could have stockholm syndrome. And I don’t believe people are focusing on the negative aspects of their relationship. Some might have read the novel and is basing it off that while others believe that he is changing his way and actions. Of course what he did is unforgivable but it really depends on what the victim believe and she cares more about living and accomplishing her goal then to worry about what her “lover” does to her. It’s clear as day that those two isn’t going to break up and that they was meant to be but sometimes i do wish that she’ll end up with someone else. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
FINALLY!! Someone who shared the same thought as I am.. I was quite excited scrolling down the positive comments before reading it at the beginning. But then... I found that the ML is too abusive and the fact that she had to ask his permission for everything (even to go to school) and to conceal her true face just because he would be jealous is well... umm.. OBSESSIVE much?? It’s not only your insomnia that needs treatment, but your short temper as well???

There really isn't a reason for him to keep her captive (I've read the entire novel, just her me out). Sure, Se Yihan, in the upcoming chapters will make you fall in love with him all over again but right now and the prior arrangement perhaps were just 'Bad' writing as you're,be said.
SPOILERS(Since you said it's alright):
The current Ye Wanwan is not the real wanwan but instead she is the daughter of the powerful Nie family in the Independent state (where martial arts prevails) called Worriless Nie. She is also the one called Bai Feng or Bro Flaptop (the president of fearless alliance).
Si Yehan and her go way back, they met in the Independent state, fell in love, and in the end she did sth horrible(she think she did) and got Yehan to remove her memory by memory masking, thus a new Ye wanwan was born. I can't confer why the starting was like that, I am leaning towards the "Since I love her, I won't let her go to someone else. She belongs to me and me alone" was the concept for those things. And even in the novel this behaviour wasn't justified.
And in the end I'm not sure if that makes sense???
Ah, so it really is a bit of a mess. I'll keep reading it anyways since I can't really do much else. Mostly for the revenge plots though-

The r@pe thing, not letting the FL leave, , being controlling, constantly getting mad over anything, monitors what she does, literally abusing her (strangling and whatever happens the first time she saw him kill) and overall doesnt let her do anything or listen to what she says.
Some people are saying that its different/there's a reason in the novel, especially about the r@pe thing, but even if thats true it didn't really excuse the rest of the stuff he does. Has a simp for sure and probably has the best in mind for the FL but there really is no reasonable excuse for abusing and keeping someone locked up.（/TДT)/
I do find that its weirder for the FL to start liking a guy she 1. Hated in her past for several resins and 2. Who did the non consensual boogie with her the night prior but that's just bad writing ig?
