I really hate this "you did something that I don't like even if it is not actually wrong and you don't know what you did so I will sexually punish you " thing. I know the uke is fine and all and that they just want to have sex but that just doesn't make sense! And pisses me off! If your lover really did something you dislike tell him and negotiate if he didn't just have the sex you want and stop playing games of power and for God's sake have some reason in your judgement of what if fine or not, your lover have a position in society don't ask for the impossible. I know it is not that bad in this manga and was just his imagination but I have read it so many time that this was the last straw and I snapped. Sorry.

I'm just as pissed as you. Is like when in mangas they forgive and "fall in love" with their raper (or abuser). In one the guy goes as far as asking the asshole for forgiveness.
I try to remind myself is just fiction and a resource for the story. But it still angers me sooooo much!

Yaoi is a genre based on the sexual relationships between homosexual males and fetishes. "Rape play", "punishment play" and "humiliation play" are all real fetishes for some people and are a common theme in this genre of fiction. If the depiction of these types of "games" offends you, perhaps another genre would be more to your tastes. Shounen ai, though devoid of sex (or perhaps because of it), tends to have fewer instances of these types of fetishes depicted.
IOW, If you don't like what you're reading...read something else.

BDSM and role play are different from what theure are upset about. However I haven't read the story so I'll really see if not just conceited and dumbass seme because I can't with them and the always forgiving ukes. And we'll a decent plot. But not all yaoi is like this so going to a different genre is not needed they just didn't like the certain dynamics of the relationship.

I'd say 75-80%, maybe more, of the 1400+ yaoi that I've read have this trope in it. My point was that stories like this are VERY common and are written with the particular type of fetishist in mind. When people harp on the "rape" aspect and put it down, they are also demeaning and belittling the fetishist who enjoy this type of thing. I find it hypocritical to "support homosexuality" but deride and begrudge someone who has a fetish that doesn't fit another person's "little box". Most readers who are young or emotionally immature don't realize that they are, in fact, reading pornography and yaoi should be viewed with the same discretion one would use in choosing to read or comment about pornography. One man's freak is another man's fetish. You may not like "rape" or "forced intercourse", but the person sitting next to you may really be turned on by reading about it. Using righteous indignation to blast a fetish is no different than a homophobe using it to blast homosexuality. In short, THINK before you comment. If you don't like a manga or a trope, don't read it - you have that option. Changing genre will eliminate the frequency of a reader coming into contact with a trope as common as this, since the number of "gentle" yaoi out there are few and far between.
By the way, my references to "you" did not mean to imply you personally. Rather they were meant in the general term of "everyone". As a matter of fact, this entire post was meant in a general sense and not aimed at you personally. I've followed your comments on other manga and have found your comments to be very intelligent, level headed and well written. Thank you for the opportunity to share my views and opinions with you and others.

wow...please don't talk about homosexuality as if it was the same as a mere fetish
And it is ridiculous to tell someone to stop reading yaoi because they don't like rape. Yes there are fewer "gentle yaoi" as you call it but it doesn't mean that poeple who prefer this type of manga need to "forget yaoi all together or shut up"!
Who are you to give such an ultimatum?
People from the first comments were just sharing their views not putting other people down for their fetish/preferences, try to do the same why don't you?

Why is it that people who don't like rape in yaoi stories always have to misrepresent the comments the comments of people who aren't bothered by it? Let's take the example of you accusing Mameiha of giving you an ultimatum. She never did. She said it's a popular trope and if you don't like that, you don't have to read it, but she never demanded anything of you. That's all stuff you made up. Maybe that's the only technique you have. Making up crap and accusing people of it.

Sounds like the same cray-cray that thinks it's all like real life.

First, a fetish is a sexual preference of/for stimulus that causes arousal in the fetishist. Homosexuality is a natural predilection for sexual relationships with those of the same sex. I never compared the two, I compared the denouncement of the two.
Second, I gave no "ultimatum". I don't care if anyone does or doesn't read yaoi. I just don't want ignorant, intolerant people denouncing, belittling, degrading or insulting other readers in their thoughtless comments. I have never demanded anyone stop reading yaoi, I simply made a suggestion.
Third, "sharing a view" could also be said of the KKK, neo-nazis, nazis and many other hate groups. Shall I "share my views" about your comment? If I did that, I doubt you'd like it very much. Just as fetishist may not like being caught in someone else's "hate spewing". THINK BEFORE YOU POST. Just because you CAN speak, doesn't necessarilly mean you SHOULD.

I'm not entirely sure who I have been "patronizing" to. I'm sorry for you that my writing and vocabulary exceed your ability to comprehend, but this is how I speak/write. Which, if you read ALL of my posts in this thread - as well as others - you would find this to be accurate. I've attacked no one. I, too, am simply stating my opinions on a subject. In fact, I was stating them directly to another reader in a calm and mature conversation to which you felt the need to add your two cents. Apparently, you were unable to clearly understand the meaning and context of my comments. For this, I can offer you little help. I also notice that you fail to argue any of the points I've made in my previous comments to you. You have simply tried your best to "one up" me with laughable accusations. If you would care to debate or discuss a topic as mature adults (assuming that you are), I would welcome the opportunity. However, I refuse to engage in a petty sqabble.
