I saw everywhere that “hxh is such a well written masterpiece bla-bla-bla” that I had my expectations and they got crushed when I watched the anime / read the manga. Just before I was watching Code Geass and I found it way better in term of writing among other things (it’s an example though, I am not saying that it should be the first anime to watch)
HxH is really an average shounen, I don’t understand the hype. Some ants who eat humans don’t make it deeper.
I think I only consider it a beginner shounen is because me and a lot of people I know started out with it and cause its basically fanservice and plot armor. You can can consider it trashy, and its a hit or miss. So yeah
oh no I agree with you completely! I didn't like HxH much, but it's enjoyable enough, especially for people that's just getting into anime. Had I shown them something like Code Geass, they would've went off on me lmao. But it depends on the person tastes and such
