Sounds like they didn’t have a good family in their first life so I guess they were hoping they would finally have a good family here. Not being in the record books is like not being acknowledged as a part of the family.
I mean...I would think if you reincarnated you wouldn't care so much about being in a record book, since that isn't the major issue....but it's what I think.
