It is based on how he was raised.. like he thinks that fleeing away is right and not talking about it wrong when we say so otherwise. Part of the character development and the guy he’s been having sex with hasn’t said he loves him either way. That’s leading to same relationship as he and his ex boyfriend had which he don’t want it to get worse and decides to leave the guy because of his experience. I

Well he just made things up in his mind that his boyfriend didn't love him(enough) and concluded that he was in a one-sided relationship. Was he blind for the whole 8 fucking years!?? (We have seen that he actually loved him and showed it also though not too much)
