Why did Charlotte's mother die? I feel like it skipped that. Also what's going on with Charlotte's fiancee? I'm confusedლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Not really. I just reread what happened to Lena. As for Charlotte's fiancee he's stuck in his own mind I get that, but he hasn't really confronted the mastermind yet.
