Spoilers + my view on her past life

I am your girlfriend now August 4, 2020 6:56 pm

Ok so I went through everything I could find, inculding reddit, novel updates forums and the whole comment section here. I read the raws and looked at other sources that I could find and quiet frankly in temrs of spoilers there is next to nothing which is hella odd since I saw people talking about this all the way in 2017. I could look into it more but I don't think that there will be more on it but I do have a better understanding of the story now. I did also find an intresting spoiler but because there is very little information I think that it's hard to know what to believe.

Spoiler about Liliana: http://www.mangago.zone/home/mangatopic/4904364/

Anyways other than the limited spoilers I did manage to get a better idea of her and her brothers relationship. So my conclusion is that the author intentionally left what happened up to intepretation. I haven't found any spoilers relating to their relationship so it's hard to say much but I do think that in a way this is an intresting subtle comentary on rape, specifically how in any settings it's supposed to stay as a "secret" no one talks about it. I don't know about you but I personally knew from a young age that many things that we are not supposed to let others know, things we shouldn't dare talk about (e.g. the blacked out letters.) In chapter 9 all the bad things are thoughts (square boxes), not dialogue which shows that she is not meant to think about them. The things she liked, her friends and her lover (the guy putting a neckless on her) were all crossed out which makes it seem as though he had an unhealthy obsession over her and like he was isolating her.
There are things she said like "don't make him mad" that imply that there was at least some level of abuse within their relationship.

I don't think that she tried to tell anyone about the rape. I think that she knew that no one would believe her and that she had to continue playing the role her brother and family assigned to her. There are many scenes where she is depicted as a puppet with strings attaced while he holds the controller. It's clear that her family is centered around her brother in the few scenes where they are depicted (e.g. her saying she will go away for uni/college so she doesn't bother her brother). She has little power because his clutches on her mentality are strong but nevertheless she still has some mental power which is why she tried to get away and I'm pround of her.

The main scene, which I think is the strongest evidence for the rape theory is the one where he had the key to her house and he "came to my house where I lived alone" during what seemed to be the middle of the night. I don't think that she was raped but I do think that he was physically abusive or at least violent in some way because in that scene there was broken glass.

Overall it seems to be left to individual intepration. Things are shown, not told so it's really up to use to derive the meaning.

The main inspitations behind my point of view: (Yes this comment section has the most value to provide out of all the other sauces, I did not read the novel and I can't be bother to go that far so this is the best I could get)

PTSD and what she is experiencing could fully be explained by emotional abuse alone but it also makes sense with physical abuse and rape.

Another spoiler: She doesn't end up with anyone at the end.

Note: I mainly focused on the brother and sister relationships, there weren't any intresting spoilers. I went through the raws and it was so hard to make sense of any of it but I do personally believe that her current brother is in a way in the same position as she was with her older brother in the past.

Hello and thank your for the hard work/spoilers/analysis.

I also did my research on this story and I wanna ask you how you actually think of the whole plot?

Personally I think that the MC is in constant agony because the author make these toxic dumb manchildren bothering and torturing her. I can't stand seeing her suffer.
It's seeing a victim trying to heal and stay sane but everyone keeps bothering her and she is trapped with them for good. Eventually she forgiveS and acceptS them for how they put her in problematic situations in the end like the typical FL...

Why did the author even put her in such hell?
Each of these otome archetypes are assholes that keep triggering her trauma/ptsd.
Let's not forget the other side characters...
Recommend: YouTube - TELENOVELA ARE HELL videos.

Speaking of hell, Do you know the series The Good Place? I really enjoy the messy character Elenor Shellstrop who managed to escape The Bad Place more than one time and winning against her torturers due to her sheer willpower.

When I mentioned how I wish Melissa from "Beware of the Villainess" or other badass women from disadvantaged background would be in her place so she can destroy all these jerks, I get counter arguments like "You can't compare them because it is unfair since all FLs are from different worlds with different conditions", "Melissa is much more lucky" and "Since she is a commoner she can't talk back" etc...
They are not wrong about that. Still I argue if Felicia were a man, the narative would have given that character more successess. Trash Count Cale.
But what really unfair is that these female authors are making the MLs in reincarnated romance fantasy novels perfectly overpowered toxic manchildren who behave very stupidly and rude towards the girl who is not like other girls trope.
And it was pointed out that Felicia is very capable and compentent of saving a kingdom.
She still gets kinda pushed around by guys because her restrictions...
Either she takes the help from the MLs or she gets stalked by them because she refused their offer... No matter what she does her power is underminded by a ML...

There is this rule for any stereotypical romance novel stories:
The virgirnal good struggling innocent girl has to suffer tremendously for the tsundere scheming alphaholes so they can eventually reform or become better Mr Hottie Right due to FL's painful caretaking charming efforts.
And no matter strong and smart the FL is the MLs are always effortless much superior than her...
    I hate that trope!
There are of course exceptions but they are still very few where the FL is actually more superior or a real equal to the ML who is not a usually darkhaired bloodthirsty jackass.

After reading/watching these sources female characters don't have to be that powerless/weak/helpless etc. They still can navigate their lifes, regain their agencies and choose how to feel + think....!

I find the MC Felicia very interesting but in the story the only way she kinda overcomes her issues is by tolerating everything any asshole throws at her... Seriously?
I personally react very critical to this story because am someone with mental health issues and became stronger because I became more open minded and dealt with them AND there were no princelike annoying MLs freeing me from my pain.

    What is your take?
I really like to hear your opinion, please.

What I liked about the idea of Melissa is that she didn't give a damn about the tragic background stories of these shitty MLs and she didn't think of fixing, nurturing, entrtaining or satisfying them at all.
Her priorities was taking care of herself and evtl protecting/empowering others she likes.

Felicia has to deal with everyone's problem and even going as far as doing kneeling + bowing in front the perpetrator.
