I know thinking the same thing but I also have a feeling that kouichi will go through but a couple of years later find a way to go back caius I don't know how old cause time/space is different for ones self but I'm glad caius is explaining the whole situation before the final decision
I think Kouichi will still back to human world, saying good bye, and then there will be a dramatic scene when the gate nearly closed but he run and taraaa he will back to Caius in that short moment before the gate closed perfectly, lol i hate my mind for imagine such crybaby moment
