I come from a family where yelling is an everyday thing. My family yells about everything. And not just the loud because someone is far away kind of yelling. It's the aggressive kind.
Hye-sung seems to have experienced that kind of environment because of his dad. That kind of anger and yelling is normalized and can even become learned behavior for people, especially kids. Not to mention Hye-sung has always been short tempered. We need to remember he's young, scared, and confused. He is still young. He is still confused on how to parent. He's still new to it. Most parents are confused even without studying, dealing with school life, or having to deal with their own insecurities. Him even more so as he was never shown or received examples of good parenting. His first good experience with proper parents was seeing how kind, good, and happy Dojins parents are. Which could also explain why Dojin is so much more calm and better at parenting. Hye-sung is also still scared. He's scared Byul will turn out like him or have to go through what he's been through. He's scared he won't know how to help Byul since he is only now starting to get help himself. His fear comes from his love for Byul.
Hye-sung also, in the heat of the moment, isn't capable of remembering or considering that Byul has plenty of family and resources to help him succeed and overcome any challenges he might face.
He was wrong in yelling at Byul like that but I think it should be understood and not met with blind hate.
