I think AI feels and thinks by his own free will because think about it, when we’re born we’re a clean slate. We learn, adapt and evolve to match our environment and the people in it which is exactly what AI was programmed to do. Yes he can be programmed to think differently but isn’t it the same with humans? If we’re tortured or manipulated to think a certain way, our mindset will change one way or another. It’s our experiences -what we hear, see and do- that define who we are.
