Honestly, you are absolutely spot on. Based on the raws I just read, it appears that the brother became really warped and drastically different compared to his nice persona as we see in her flashbacks. And well let me just say, it’s quite the scene regarding his murder...

Omg things get a lot worse. Honestly if I may say, I don’t care about the brother, I just want them to be happy (they were for a brief time).
I have a theory about the brother now after reading chapter 3!!!!!
So her brother was a good kid when they were living together in childhood but, because he had to go live with his father, which remember the mother had said the reason for her divorce was because the dad wasn’t how he had seemed before marriage. What if the dad was a really bad person and by living alone with him, the brother became a bad person too or had a triggering experience because of his dad, and changed for the worst.
And he grows up, meets kairi, and does terrible things to him, whatever that may be. What I’m not sure on is if I think that kairi killed for self defense (which does seem likely), or he didn’t actually kill him and just thought he did.
