But these authors srsly need to stop the whole, “Oh I’m not gay, I just love you” type of thing. Y’all don’t have to stick with labels if you don’t want to but at least acknowledge the fact that your character ain’t straight.

I think it is more about present reality. If you have sex with the same gender and as long as you don't have sex with the opposite anymore, you are homosexual. As long as you are only having the opposite gender, you are straight. The action makes it reality. If you switch, then you are bisexual, as you switch between two directions. So as this guy did not have sex with a women since he met him, he is homosexual and not straight. Sure he can deny it. But it won't change the facts that are is evident actions.

No that’s not how it works “did not have sex with a women since he met him” because he was in LOVE with him not his gender, I’m bisexual so if I’m dating a girl or like a girl I’m not fucking guys or anyone of that matter because of my interest of this one person.

    I agree
    People have some taboos
    I do too
    Like
I am not allowed to have sex with anyone until I am married to them
But that doesn't mean I can't like like or love them
Having sex with particular people doesn't show your sexual orientation
But if you love them or think about doing it with them or do it with them with define your sexual orientation

*while everyone is arguing about sexual orientation in the comments, ren__san and Mijeong confess their love to each other* ROFL

See, like... I'm pan, okay? And the thing about labels is, they empower and restrain. It's a bit of a double edged sword. Logically thinking, isn't it weird that we should have to discriminate against anyone for how they love someone? Isn't that sort of thing basically nobody's business?

But the problem is that society doesn't see it that way. They'll use anything to try to control the masses. And what can those who now bear the tag of being "different" do? They have to protect themselves.

And we have all these labels and tags so that these particular people find a place of belonging where they can protect themselves and each other.

Some people can only feel attracted to a certain gender. Some people may feel sexual attraction but not romantic feelings. We're all different and varied. And we've made all these tags to let people like us know that we exist. And for people who aren't like us to know that we exist. And that while we may be different from what is being forced down people's throats as "the norm", we aren't ABNORMAL. It's just the definition of normal that is too limited yet.

It's not really something you need to overthink if you don't understand it, I think. It's good to think about it. But overthinking about it by yourself is kinda pointless. It's the people who identify that will know. And they have plenty to share if you ask nicely.

They're just people. We are just people. The tags have varying levels of importance to varying people. It's just like that, you know? It's just a matter of acceptance. "Such people exist. I am in no place to judge them or force them into deciding what label they fall under." Because ultimately, you aren't. They decide their own labels. They decide what they feel comfortable with. It's just... nobody else's business.
