I hated his guts but once he changed I liked him and he seems better. I still don't get why people hate him so much
He never hated her he was just jealous of her. Then when he was drugged he started being more rough but only because he was fed lies that pushed him to the edge even then he did not harm her or her father. He locked uo her father but lied to her and told her that he killed him just to get revenge on her for killing his child because she hated him and never like the idea of bearing his child... atleast that's what duke Zena told him even though we know that duke zena poison their child. Also he lied to her because he saw that she was suffering and he wanted her to leave the palace of her own accord. So even though he "did something so cruel" to her he didn't want her to suffer there. When she stabbed him he was pushing for her to be EXILED but duke made sure she was executed.
