Yeah but in the story slaves were obviously not treated nicely as we can infer from the fact that somebody said “he even feeds them and aids them when they need medicine” . Slaves can’t escape the cycle of going from owner to owner unless they are freed so therefore he decides that he wants to take responsibility for the action of naming them as slaves by setting them free. So he is actually an incredibly kind slave master.

I agree. Having slaves be a thing is a disgusting thing in the first place but if being a slave owner was a gray-black spectrum, he’d be on the gray area. Most of these people were probably taken from their homes and would be far worse under a different slave owner or left on the streets in this desert. If what they’re saying is true about towns shunning strangers then this guy is basically acting like a lawful evil. Still bad but not the worst I could get.
People keep talking about the rape to love story... are we just gonna ignore the fact that it was basically glorifying the uke as a "good" slave master? Good and slave master don't go together. all those people under him, espcially his 'friends' who were clearly brainwashed since they were young. Don't make Black Eagle into a good person ffs.
