homophobia is a result of religion and modern moral policing. No one gave a shit if you were lgbt back in the day hell as recent as the 1930s lesbians and gays were shown in movies kissing and having relationships until the Motion Picture Production Code created moral guidelines in Hollywood due to the same conservative Karen that caused the alcohol prohibition a decade earlier. We've only becomes such squares about sexuality in the last 100 or so years.
