Thank you so much! You managed to express everything I think in a very clear and non-offensive way. :)
I also like all the characters but Kou is special. He has not yet lived half of his life but has suffered and gone through several difficult things to deal with. It's really good to see how he is changing gradually influenced by the affection of his friends.
I understand everyone's feelings about this manga. I was up until 5am reading it. It's really interesting, but yes there are a lot of annoying things about the characters. Though, that is kind of like all humans. We are imperfect! Kou has made some dumb choices- but he's 16! What sixteen-year-old boy or girl hasn't?! I'm angry at both of them for how weak they allow themselves to be, but when I look back at myself at 16 I was no better. We are all striving to define ourselves, to find our value, and sometimes we search in the wrong place and try to find our value in the worth of others eyes. The characters develop and change a lot, and I appreciate that in a story. These days its hard to find that. I like how the mangaka uses past experiences to juxtapose current events between Kau and Fubata. I also really like her boyfriend. There isn't one stinky character...well, except for that sneeky chick Kou feels responsible for. She pisses me off because she is aware of her actions of sneekiness (but even her I feel for! Hahah) I just really hope the mangaka deals with their reconciliation properly. I worry that she's going to toss more drama in just to drag it out. Fingers crossed! ^-^;;
