I wanted to punch the mom as well. She dotes on Takayuki while completely neglecting her other son Katsumi. Instead of standing up for Katsumi when the dad was being an irrational jerk, she instead told her husband to stop talking about Katsumi because they were celebrating Takayuki. On page 27, both the mom and dad didn't even bother holding hands with Katsumi and subsequently blamed his desolate behavior as him being weird. I guess both of them only care about the 'successful' son. Both the mom and dad are such shallow pricks and it's disturbing that people as undeserving as them are rich.
