If you want to know what she said about her mother...
It was basically "I don't really feel the loss because I have no memory of her". And he hated her way before that. Dont you see the way he was at the beggiing of teh secod timeline? He also humiliated her during their first dance during the first timeline, when she was still a child.
So, throughout the story I have been wondering one thing and it is killing me to know why. That question is why did Ruve hate Tia so much. And know I have a theory. I reread the story 3 times now and there’s a part that caught my attention. At the beginning ruve always referred tia as heartless cold woman that did not had feelings, but I didn’t felt that way so I thought that tia must have done something that hurt ruve and therefore have that opinion of her. And the story foreshadows that tia doesn’t remember what she said about her mother in one of the first banquet. I think she said(and this is just my opinion) that because she didn’t remember her mother, she did not care or didn’t feel bad about losing her. We all know that ruve holds madam Monique as a very special person( because she cared of him like a mother). I mean it’s not tia’s fault that she didn’t remember her mother but it would explain why in this life he cares more about her. Because tia resembles her late mother and tia learned more about her more and feels more connections with her and doesn’t act like she doesn’t care about it. I haven’t read the novel so what I just said can be complete wrong but something tells me it is not.
