yaoi, BL has almost noting to do with LGBT. I would say nothing to do with it, which is what I think, but I'm leaving a tiny bit of wiggle room
There are lots of bl manga that are just fetishizing the gay community however if you do a thorough search you can find many hidden gems with very good lgbtq representation.
my favorite is "history 3: trapped". i don't really watch BL dramas, but this one holds a special place in my heart thanks to the ending.

Yaoi and BL belongs to and comes from the mind of the author, usually a woman, who looks to the man inside (as in Karl Jung's universal mind) to come up with these stories. Authors and readers don't know or care enough about the lgbt to use it as a source. Do the characters from THe Left Hand of Darkness come from the gay community? There wasn't a gay community when it was written, and it takes place on another planet. The people in that story are the author's invention, and the source is not the gay community

Respectfully, I resent saying that we "fetishize" the gay community. That's not true. Also, there are entire bookstores devoted to the LGBTQI. Why search high and low in a genre that doesn't address your tastes. And please see my answer to yaoid. thank you for doing that.
