Try watching the untamed, live action on YouTube, and read the comment section. It is lighter and u will understand most of it

But also keep in mind thst untamed has some bits different from both materials.

I know but it is a good starting points for beginners. It is less compacted and really get u into the fandom. Normal people might feel the book too overwhelming. Plus they can consults the comment section for explanation too. It is easier to understand. I started with the drama and then was curious and started to read off the comments and understand bits by bits and then the donghua and then the manhua...and then the book. It was very useful

I understand now. I can understand how the novel can be complicated but that’s actually why I don’t like the drama is cuz it’s VERY different from the book. Cuz I watched the anime, then the novel, then the manhua. But I can understand because you watched it in a different perspective due to the fact you watched the drama first without reading the originals first. So I can see where you are coming from :)
