I agree though that he shouldn't be too harsh to the kid because that 'Athy is most important person' is unnecessary unless he is willing to betray his father and Jeanette

Im just triggered that he is portraied as gentle and kind, but he is like that just to Athy

I think its good to reject her straighfoward, but it was kinda mean... You dont need to tell your sister that you love someone more than her, just say that the types of love are different
