I see where your coming from but at least it wasn't as bad as it with jennette. I mean for jennette the hate for her was from the beginning till now for some unlike Ezekiel who only got just some comment stating that it was harsh unlike wanting jennette to drown etc.I pretty sure you can see the difference in here.Sure, what he did wasn't the nicest thing to do by bluntly saying it her but I feel that at least he was honest with her. Like almost all the characters don't even bother telling their true feeling to her.
