Also for anyone interested in reading a story with ace/asexual MC, I would recommend 'Loveless' by Alice Oseman . It has many other queer characters and the book is a pure joy
Tamaki may be asexual with whatever has been shown so far. However, the author has strongly implied that the reason for Tamaki resisting sex is because of his trauma from his mom and her sexual partners.

No, masturbating doesn't mean one is not asexual.
Many asexuals have a sex drive, and many of them masturbate. But what makes them different is that their libido is dissociated from sexual attraction. Having a sex drive doesn't translate into wanting sex. Put simply, there can be a sex drive, but not a drive towards anyone.
