yes it isnt something to be sorry for but in a way it wasnt a healthy relationship. ejekiel's pulled down by his father and their family name. in the first timeline he married jeanette because his father demanded it and he didnt know how to escape from that. but now because of his love for athy he even warns his father about executing the plan when claude's most vulnerable (the time he pointed athy out during his bday)
ejikiel felt obliged to take care of jeanette especially cause her childhood was the worst and he was too nice and too manipulated by his father that he makes her his number one priority
