I'm gonna help your brain accept this. My tongue piercing is like Toya's. Piercers will ask you how far you want it, normally people choose around the middle but some would prefer near the tip maybe because Toya wants to show off, it's easier to show people. Lol. Mine's placed like that as well cause I'm gonna get more tongue piercings and i need more space at the back. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Really my piercer wouldn’t do any that close to the front of the tongue bc of the possible damage to the teeth. But she was also super against a lot of facial piercings around the teeth and gum. I had to go to another piercer for my labrete although I took it out within a year bc it was causing damage to my gums. I guess she was right.
I'm using the shortest barbell that with only 2-4mm gap allowance and a 3mm ball for the top part so I can divert it from my teeth. If this will still damage my teeth, i'm considering using acrylic barbell instead. Still hiding this from my dentist. Lol. Also hesitating about labrete, I might want to do a surface piercing around the mouth, that way the gums are safe. Haha!
Lol yeah people get them placed in different spots either for looks or function ;) I'll be getting mine done similar to his soon too. It's not wise sometimes since it can damage your teeth for sure though.

Why I let this kind of stupid sht bother me?? I can suspend my reality for cat ears, mpreg & babies delivered anally, toxic relationships with possessive semes that are HEA, magically lubricating butts (actually 9/10 bothers the fck out of me), but whatever, I can suspend my reality for all this sht then a fcking tongue piercing in the wrong part of the tongue takes me out of the story. Why is my brain so weird?!
