I think they called it the red mist or something, the red hair cutie said that he was scared of Sid cause he is the only one who can control the red mist stuff which are like the eyes that randomly appear...but Sid had that whole monologue where he seemed trapped so, I think there might be a ploy for our sympathy for Sid by finding out he's actually a puppet to the red mist thing....like maybe it's trying to take over instead of Satan or Cain....but that is just a theory lol I'm probably wrong ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
For anyone confused so far, Sid is trying to get Cain killed (mostly by making sure the Dr isn't found and he dies from his injury). He mentioned before that Cain was too weak to be his king, so I'm assuming part of him wants Satan as his true King? Cain and Satan are fighting for control of Hell, and I think Sid is somehow working for someone to double cross Cain.
The Dr is testing Sid and the trust Cain has in him. He mentioned the compass because he needs Cain to trust his words, and by talking about the compass Cain is going to get suspicious of Sid because he gave Sid the compass, and Sid obviously can't produce it on sight because that crazy guy has it. When Cain starts doubting Sid and believing that the Dr is really who he says he is, he can then be healed and fight against Satan. Sid will probably run away and become an enemy of Cain. I do think there's something about Sid that leads me to believe his body may be inhabited by himself and another demon. I kind of get the vibe that he does somewhat like Cain, however the other half doesn't.
The Dr wants Satan dead because he doesn't like him. Remember he stole those souls from Satan? The little boy demon also doesn't like Satan, and will benefit from him being dead.
I hope I managed to clear a few things up! It's probably not 100% accurate but I'm kind of following the plot so far.
